No farewell words were spoken

no time to say goodbye

you were gone before we knew it,

and only God knows why.

 

Its been a while since you left us,

the pain still burns so deep,

we think about you day and night,

at work and while we sleep.

 

Music meant so much to you,

You played with love and pride,

Trombones playing will forever more,

Keep you by our side.

 

You left us oh so sudden,

and we all miss you so,

we cry ourselves to sleep some nights,

and wish you'd just come home.

 

If tears could build a stairway,

and memories were a lane,

we would walk right up to heaven

to bring you home again.

 

Our heart still aches in sadness

and secret tears still flow,

what it meant to lose you,

no one will ever know.
