Bomb Victims Invited to Meet HRH Prince Charles

Invite To Highgrove House to meet Prince Charles and Camila

12 June 2006

Julie and I received an invitation (along with all the victims of the bombings last year both at home and abroad) to go to Highgrove House to meet HRH Prince Charles and Camila.

Unfortunately, Camila’s father died on the Sunday before we were due to meet.

We would like to pass on our condolences to her and her family. We know only too well the pain of losing some one (our son and more recently Julie’s father). We, therefore, did not get to meet Camila.

The visit started at 11 a.m. With a welcoming drink (Tea,Coffee, Still Lemon or Orange). Then in small groups we were shown around the gardens of Highgrove House.

On our return (about an Hour and half later) Prince Charles was waiting to meet the various groups.

He seemed genuinely shocked when we told him that, his invitation was the first official recognition of the the Egyptian victims and that we felt forgotten. We explained that the only people that had had an acknowledgement of any sort, was to those that had written to the various officials complaining of our treatment. During our short discussion, his P.A. Took various notes. We only hope that he can bring some pressure to bear to change things in the future.

We were also given a lunch and another drink before we left around 3 p.m.
