The Laura Centre is a family bereavement counselling centre, which provides free,
confidential counselling for individuals, couples, families and groups . Who can
use the Centre? Anyone affected by the death of a child, at any age, and from any
cause or any school aged child affected by the death of a parent, grandparent or
significant adult.
Users include: parents, siblings, grandparents, relatives, friends,
neighbours, teachers, doctors, social workers and nurses. Geographical area covered:
Primarily Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, but because of the lack of similar
facilities elsewhere, we also see clients from Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire,
Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire

Disaster Action is a charity set up in 1991 by survivors and bereaved people from major disasters. It is an independent advocacy service that represents the interests of those directly affected by disaster.
