Matt,

I never really knew you i must say but after reading what everyone has to say about you, i really wish i had have done. To make so many people happy is something you should be terribly proud of. Although you left this world early, it sounds like you performed more in this world in 18 years than most do in 80. Although i never knew you, you sound like you would have been a cracking mate.

You were a true inspiration in my life. To me you’re never gone I’ll always see your sweet smiling face, whenever my heart beats I’ll hear your deep fun filled laugh. You were the best Matty the Brightest star of us all, and I was honoured to have been so close to you . I’m deeply devastated by your loss but forever I’ll cherish you and our fantastic memories together. Rest in peace Matty.

I'll never forget you putting gel in my new hair piece one night round elliotts and then panicking when you heard me coming, so you tried to flush it down the toilet. You gave me a sweet "i didnt do anything wrong" look. Also turing up at elliotts fancy dress party in one of his t-shirts saying you'd come as "elliott". You had a fantastic sense of humour and you were a fantastic person. I'm devastated. Thinking of you always. Love Hayley x x

in the middle of nowhere, but many times on our Duke

of Edinburgh trecks you managed it. You were always a

great laugh and upped the spirit when we were feeling

low. Thankyou for making the experience that much more

I also remember the "hair piece night" well! Never a dull moment at elliotts house parties

especially when you where there causing havoc! just wish you were still around so we could swap blazers in elements more often! Will always miss you.

It was very sad to read what had happened to your son and for the little help you received this country. We was lucky our daughter Joanne was staying in the hotel that night and she got home safely. it was her who put us onto this site. Our thoughts go out your family.

I am so saddened by your loss. My husband, daughter and myself were staying at Ghazala Gardens when this happened. We had been there for just under a week. It's still very fresh in my mind and we were so lucky to come home alive. Everyone who lost their lives are always in my thoughts.

I personally knew Matthew and was devastated to come home myself from being abroad to find out what had happened, I know nothing will ever change how sad you must feel, but there are many of us from school who will miss him and loved him for who he was. He was a great person!

Matt was such a good guy. He and I were in the jazz band. I got on well with him because he seemed so mature for his age. He was a great lad and a talented musician. I will never forget some of the laughs we had at gigs and trips. He is greatly missed.

My son Phillip was a friend of Matt and spent many a happy hour or two playing tennis in Hollycroft park, going to friend's houses or just chilling together. They both shared a wicked sense of humour and I know on several occasions they were threatened to be separated at school time as they tended to lark about abit. I know I had said they mustn't sit together if they couldn't study and I believe you both said the same. They built up a really strong friendship and I can honestly say that I am pleased and proud that Phill has the strength of judgement to choose friends like Matt. We have both had various dreams of Matt since last July and I as a believer of a life other than this firmly believe the dreams are messages from Matt. The most vivid of these is Matt telling me that he felt no fear and no pain during this time- in fact he says that it all happened so quickly that he felt nothing. Please don't be upset by this, I visit mediums sometimes and they have told me to pass on this information to you before but it's difficult knowing how to say these things without seeming like a crank ! My heartfelt sympathies are always with you and your family and I know Phill will always remember Matt and treasure his friendship. Phill also has a constant reminder of Matt as he still has in his room Matt's tennis racket, please could you let us know what you would prefer him to do with it.My thoughts and love to you all and also to Matt xx Helen Nelson

Im so sorry to hear about matty, i met him only a couple of days before he went away for his 18th birthday, we were plannin on meetin when he got back, and findin out he wearnt comin back came as such a shock as i only just got to no him. Im very sorry for ure loss, and he will alwayz be with you, good luck for the rest of ur future.. Laura
